[Compiled report by reporter Lo Chih-hua] To celebrate World Pilots' Day on April 26, the Tainan City Cultural Affairs Bureau and the FLOMO Education Foundation have jointly presented the special exhibition "Soaring Through the Clouds — Virginia's Flights of Imagination" at the Shuijiaoshe Cultural Park, featuring a series of aircraft-themed paintings by Canadian artist Virginia Ivanicki. The exhibition not only echoes the history of the Shuijiaoshe air force dependents' village but also pays tribute, through art, to the pilots who soar across the skies.

Deputy Mayor Yeh Tse-shan noted that the Shuijiaoshe Cultural Park is an important site for preserving the cultural heritage of military dependents' villages. Jointly organized by the government, the foundation, and local schools, the exhibition demonstrates the power of cross-sector collaboration and helps more people learn about aviation history. Shen Ching-ying, Vice Chairperson of the FLOMO Education Foundation, noted that since its founding in 2004 the foundation has continuously promoted English and arts education and supported cultural activities through its art collection. Shuijiaoshe is known as the "Home of the Thunder Tigers," and the foundation specially used its own eraser products to create designs of the Thunder Tiger Aerobatics Team's aircraft, adding cultural depth to the exhibition.

Cultural Affairs Bureau Director Huang Ya-ling said the exhibition also partners with Zhikai Elementary School and Zeren Kindergarten on the "Paint My Flying Dream" outreach activity, encouraging children to use their creativity to depict their own imaginings of flight. She hopes the park can become a base for passing on aviation history, art, and culture, drawing more visitors into the exhibition.

The special exhibition "Soaring Through the Clouds — Virginia's Flights of Imagination" runs from now through June 28 at the Art Exhibition Hall of the Shuijiaoshe Cultural Park, with free admission. Visitors can find more information on the Shuijiaoshe Cultural Park's official website and Facebook fan page.
